Moving with the Music

There is something special about music. Whether you are attending your child’s classical piano recital or simply singing a duet along to today’s Top 40 on the drive to school, music can move you. It can swell joy inside of you, quicken your heart rate, or even bring you to tears. According to the Scriptures, David used music as a conduit for God’s work. His music was capable of inspiring and healing. Like David, you can use music today to enhance aspects of your family’s life. Kissimmee private schools share sources for content that will lift your spirit.

Faith Fit Podcasts

Available for easy access in the form of an app, Faith Fit is home to a variety of podcasts with content based in Catholic teachings, and the Diocese’s own Bishop Noonan’s three principles of: enkindling a deeper faith in the hearts of people, forming leaders in Christ, and harmonizing ministries to the mission of the Church. A variety of shows are available, each one providing spiritually sound content, such as new music from Catholic artists, retrospective discussions, and heartwarming stories from every corner of the diocese. Focusing on the caretaking of the mind, body, and soul, every show’s host knows how to inspire your child’s day.

Catholic Radio Within the Diocese

The Western Diocese of Orlando is connected to two uplifting radio programs. Divine Mercy Radio (WDMC 920 AM), hosted by apostolate Bob Groppe, airs programming provided by EWTN and other local sources that help families lead a faith-filled life. On another frequency is On This Rock Radio (97.1 FM). While this new station is still under construction, future broadcasts promise programming from Relevant Radio, which offers both family-friendly and adult content. Start your day by tuning in to one of these enriching stations on your morning commute with your child.

Catholic Radio Outside of the Diocese

The Western Diocese of Orlando provides many engaging programs, but don’t let that limit you. If you have a subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio, Channel 129’s The Catholic Channel, operated by the archdiocese of New York, broadcasts Catholic lifestyle programming. Looking for something a bit more accessible? Bread Box Media app radio is a U.S.-based network that has broadcasted original content since 2015. Content features well-known authors, bloggers, speakers, and media professionals discussing the power of God in our world. The app also offers podcasts about family life, from raising kids Catholic to true fairy tales. The network mainly focuses on Relational Evangelization. Another radio app, Relevant Radio, is a not-for-profit radio network that attempts to bridge the gap between daily life and faith. Original programming is broadcasted from 46 stations and reaches 19 states.
