Empty Tombs
Empty Tombs are a delicious treat that teaches the story of Jesus. This drool-worthy snack is made with biscuits to represent his tomb, along with marshmallows that represent His disappearing body. When He died, His body was prepared with embalming oils, which are symbolized in this recipe with butter. The cinnamon and sugar mixture represents the spices with which He was anointed.

Ingredients:

  • 10 large marshmallows

  • 2 7.5-oz. cans of biscuit dough

  • 2 tbsp. butter, melted

  • 2 tbsp. sugar

  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon

  • Oil

For the doughnut glaze:

  • 1 ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1 ½ tbsp. milk

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • ¼ cup butter

Instructions:

  1. Flatten the biscuits into thin circles.

  2. Dip one marshmallow into melted butter.

  3. Roll marshmallow in cinnamon and sugar.

  4. Place the marshmallow in one of the biscuits.

  5. Using another flattened biscuit, close the biscuit with the marshmallow sandwiched in between both sides of the bread.

  6. Repeat with remaining biscuits.

  7. For the glaze, mix all of the ingredients together with a stand mixer or handheld beater until smooth.

  8. Heat oil on medium-high and fry the doughnuts for one minute on each side until golden brown.

  9. Dip the doughnut into the glaze to completely cover it.

  10. To let the glaze dry, transfer the doughnuts to a wire rack inside of a cookie sheet.

Bunny Biscuits
Who doesn’t love bread? Imagine bunny biscuits. Your child can eat them in a quick bite for breakfast or an afternoon treat. This simple recipe makes five servings with just a few ingredients:

  • 1 refrigerated can of biscuits that makes 10

  • 20 slivered almonds

  • 10 raisins

  • 5 halved maraschino cherries

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Place five biscuits on a nonstick baking pan. To assemble, cut the leftover five biscuits in half to make bunny ears. Press the dough underneath the whole biscuit to form the head. Press in the raisins for eyes, half of a cherry for the nose, two of the slivered almonds on each side for whiskers. Bake them for 10 minutes, and serve immediately.
